Tegner and Emma: Together at last

Emma of Swedish blog Jemsi sent in these before-and-after pictures of her home, including her Ikea sofa recovered in Tegner Melange Zinc Grey.

This house not only shows a great sense of style, but the paired down decor marrying classic design pieces and quirky details really personalize the space and make it a home.

Decade at a glance

Happy 2010 everyone and welcome back. As a nod to the noughties, here are some highlights from the last decade from Bemz - well not quite the whole decade as it didn't launch until 2004!

If you look at any coverage of the decade it often seems to have a heavier focus on the negative issues: global warming, pandemics, 9/11... All very, very important and of course, seminal in defining our time.

But surely it can't be all bad? There must be some good things that came out of the last decade.

My faves, aside from the creation of Bemz and of course the popularization of blogging and other social media, are the Olympics (there have been 5!) and the resurgence of some really classic and eternally beautifully design pieces, from the good old rotary dial phone to the Eames rocker.

I think a look at a some classic design pieces from other decades might be nice. Stay tuned.
