Christmas is a really personal time of year so why not make sure your individual stamp is visible in your Christmas decor? To help get our thinking caps on with regards to decorations and themes for this festive season, I thought a look through some design-it-yourself ideas that require little work but really provide some wow factor would help kick-start the process.

Color group them together and hang over a low table for an alternative centerpiece.

Add festive flair to your front door by decorating it with a bunch of baubles as a colorful alternative to a wreath.

Customize baubles by carefully twisting off the tops to drop in a choice personalization. Here they've used miniature trees, ones for cake decorating but why not experiment with messages, photos or other trinkets that are meaningful to you and yours?

And don't forget to decorate outside too! You don't have to resort to a plastic Santa on your roof...
Do you know what? Now that I've written bauble so many times it strikes me that it is a very strange word both in sound and spelling. Am I the only one who thinks so?
Coming up in Part II: candles.
