Living spaces are getting smaller and we are all having to be more creative with ways of getting the most out of the space we have. Many of us are opting for dual purpose rooms rather than sacrificing a whole room to guests. This is where the sofa bed comes in - it doesn't have to be an eye-sore either. Use these top tips for choosing the right sofa bed that will ensure a stylish sofa by day and a comfortable guest bed by night.
As the sofa bed has dual purpose, make sure you open it up and test how comfortable it is. Can it realistically give two people a satisfactory and restful sleep?
By the same token, don't forget to ensure that it is cozy to sit on as a sofa too!
Test drive opening out the sofa bed and closing it up again. If it's a struggle you'll dread using it. And you don't want to be fighting an awkward apparatus while your guests wait.
An added bonus with some sofa beds is concealed storage which is ideal for keeping the duvet and pillows out of sight while the bed is not in use.
If you are planning to put the sofa bed in an upstairs room, bear in mind that many sofa beds are very heavy. Also, ensure you will be able to get the sofa bed into the desired room. Measure any tight spots like doorways and tight corners.
Another option for accomodating extra sleepers without sacrificing a whole room to guests is by opting for a daybed. A daybed excludes the pull-out mechanism of a sofa bed and is generally a mattress that is covered by day. Accessorized with a variety of cushions, a day bed is a viable option that some find less cumbersome than a sofa bed.
Bemz offers a wide range of covers for both daybeds and sofa beds. Choose from over 100 fabrics to get the look you want.

I know you make slip covers for sofa's, but what about sofa beds? I'm guessing it would be made in multiple pieces. If you don't, I'm sure there would be a market for something like that. We sell replacement sofa bed mattresses to hotels and consumers and that would make for an excellent "add-on" during checkout.

thanks for your comment! We do sell slipcovers for sofa beds, but only IKEA models.
The Ektorp sofa bed for example, or Tomelilla, Karlanda and Sundborn.
Replacement mattresses seems like a good idea.

I love the entire design. I really love color, but when you get a neutral space to look like this with all the texture, it looks so warm and cozy. I would go crazy with throw pillows to add pops of color all over. Nice!
