Bemz was featured in the April issue of UK's Elle Decoration. The article was entitled Transform your Home in 6 Easy Steps which we felt really reflected the Bemz ethos nicely. Here's what they had to say:
"Put the zing into your home this spring with our six top tips for updating your space. Remember, little changes can make a big difference!
1. ROTATE YOUR ACCESSORIES: It's the easiest way to achieve a quick, seasonal update and usher in fresh new colours and patterns to boost your mood. But as with fashion, coordination is key. Aim for one or two accent colours across cushion covers, throws, vases and ornaments. And consider getting a new cover for your sofa too. To give a tired Ikea sofa a bargain facelift, check out Bemz, which offers loose covers specifically for Ikea's sofas, chairs and cushions in a choice of eight fabrics and over 90 designs.
Pictured here is the Klippan two-seater sofa with a Woven Whimsy - Cloud Grey cover from Bemz. Cushions from left, are in Deep Navy Blue linen, Daiquiri Green cotton, Old Fashioned Linen- Ash Brown Stripe, Sand Beige linen and Pale Turquoise linen.
2. GET CANNY IN THE KITCHEN: If buying brand new kitchen units isn't an option right now, why not simply change the fronts for a speedy style makeover? Repaint or replace them (as long as you go back to the original manufacturer this is incredibly easy) and your kitchen will instantly look perkier! Even swapping dull old handles for new ones will give the room a fresh feel.
3. FIRST IMPRESSIONS COUNT: Give your front door a facelift! It's incredible how much difference this one change can make! Try Dulux 'Summer Medley' blue paint range.
4. GIVE YOUR SHELVES A COLOUR BOOST: Plastic and melamine accessories are cheerful, cheap and practical. Great for kids, parties and picnics, they're fun to colour coordinate too, so why not celebrate their jolliness by displaying them on open shelves? Our favourite places to shop for them are Habitat, Alfies Antique Market and Paris store Sentou.
5. ADD ATTITUDE TO YOUR FLOOR: Rugs are another affordable way to refresh your home - easier than changing an entire carpet and very efficient at covering worn patches or stains. We love Habitat's thick graphic rugs by Paola Navone, or for a bigger statement, Ikea's brand new, generously sized 'PS Stuga' thin woven wool rugs are inspired by North African nomads who join segments of rugs together over the years to create larger and larger pieces.
6. MAKE AN ENTRANCE: Hallways can be the ultimate Cinderella space - a neglected area you ignore on your way to more glamourous parts of the house. Well, it doesn't have to be that way! Liberate your hall by painting it a vibrant colour (bold blue will get visitors' attention!) or add a bright hallway runner to give the space a luxurious feel. Try 'Sky' blue paint from Designer's Guild to give your hallway edge."
