Here we are again - the start of a new year. New resolutions. New ideas. New energy. So what does the design world have in store for us? Here is a forecast of what's going to be hot in 2011 - so you can stay one-step-ahead of the game.
Lights by Couriosa & Couriosa (top), Knot Pendant for Vitamin (bottom, left) and Vessel by Samuel Wilkinson (bottom, right)
Baring it all: Industrial chic lighting will be hot (so punny!) which will be all about exposed bulbs, pared down shades, mildly dressed up with jazzy filaments and knots.
Sideboard by Espada at Skandium
Wood not have it any other way: Well crafted timber furniture is becoming firmly entrenched and some beautiful, timeless pieces are out there for the taking.
Shell Thomas's Eco Rocker and Cardboard Collection by Giles Miller
Eco: None of us are letting up on our awareness of the impact we are having on the environment and an offshoot of this is the collection of corrugated cardboard products that range from clocks and toys right up to cabinets.
Alice wallpaper and an Ekeskog sofa in Baronessa - Pink by Lisa Bengtsson for Bemz
Seventies, again: We've seen 50s and 60s inspired trends come back around and now it's time for the 70s. Like!
Chair from Sé Collection by Jaime Hayon
This steel is not a steal: Pure and simplistic in material yet still beautiful and shapely is what makes this steel framed furniture trend one to watch.
What trends have you spotted that you are happy to adopt?

We can believe we are being self-reliant and independent, and yet there is still clearly an overarching destiny, a Great Maker.
