Here's a trend that's easy to put together yourself and won't cost much either: clusters of paper lanterns. I first saw this on Apartment Therapy but have since spotted it in a few places. Check out these photos for a little inspiration:

This simple change in lighting can give a room a much needed lift by drawing the eye up, especially with the colorful, ornamental mix used above, left. Obviously, trying to introduce new electrics is not straight forward, but as you can see most of the globes are not even lit. The others are merely there for decorative purposes.

In this example that comes from Apartment Therapy, there is a globe bulb placed in the centre lighting up all the different shades.
What do you think? Chic and unique or dorm decor?

Fun to see this today a year ago I made a post about my bedroom make over in a white simple place. http://vosgesparis.blogspot.com/2009/08/sunny-room.html Above my bed I have the huge Ikea paper lamp and it looks great and natural.. So yes I love them

Hi Desiree!
That's a beautiful blog post - and, an absolutely stunning room! Well done and thank you for sharing. You show that a paper lantern can definitely qualify as chic.
I am also impressed that you've posted in three (!) languages: English, Dutch (I think!) and French. You are a lady of many talents.
